Using locally grown and harvested willow wood, participants will strip, cut and prepare bark to make beautiful diagonally woven small baskets. Topped off with a bark rim lashed with black ash, this one day workshop will introduce you to the various local materials that can be used with this method including birchbark. All materials and tools are supplied.
We will be working in an unheated space so dress accordingly and relaxed ‘work’ clothes are appropriate as well when working with willow.
Coffee, tea and snack is provided but you will be required to bring your own lunch.
